K.C. Murphy – President and CEO, Co-Founder
K.C. is a semiconductor industry veteran with more than 25 years experience. His professional career spans more than two decades spent with some of the industry's premier companies including Advanced Micro Devices, Cadence Design Systems and Broadcom. Prior to NextIO, K.C. was an Executive Officer of Broadcom and the VP/GM of Broadcom's RF and Advanced Mixed Signal Group. K.C. joined Broadcom via Broadcom's acquisition of Pivotal Technologies, a successful semiconductor startup in Pasadena, CA, where he served as President and CEO. Before Pivotal Technologies, K.C. was Executive Vice President, Strategic Business Group and Corporate Strategy, at Cadence Design Systems. K.C. joined Cadence after many years at AMD where he held several positions, his last being Vice President, Corporate Strategy and PC Systems. KC received his BSEE degree from MIT.
Mike Heumann – Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Marketing
Mike comes to NextIO with over 25 years of marketing and sales experience in the high-technology industry. A veteran of several innovative I/O and storage companies, Mike specializes in applying his management expertise to reposition companies and refocus sales and marketing teams for optimal growth. Prior to NextIO Mike was VP of Sales and Marketing at Astute Networks where he repositioned the company as a systems company and rebuilt the sales and marketing organizations. Before joining Astute, Mike was at Dot Hill Systems, a provider of Raid Storage Arrays. He began at Dot Hill as Senior Director, Sales Engineering and via promotions held the roles of VP of Marketing and then VP of Sales. His extensive storage and I/O experience includes senior level marketing, sales and engineering roles at JNI Corporation and AMCC. Mike earned his BSEE from the University of Wisconsin, and his Masters degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Purdue University.
Brooks Ivey – Vice President, Business Development and OEM Sales, Co-Founder
Brooks brings to NextIO, more than 25 years of marketing, sales and business development experience in the high technology industry. Before co-founding NextIO, he was director of sales at Banderacom, a semiconductor startup focused on InfiniBand solutions. Prior to joining Banderacom, Brooks held the role of business development manager at Intel in the LAD (Lan Access Division) as the result of Intel acquiring Level One Communications. Brooks was also a co-founder and director of sales at Jato Technologies, a semiconductor startup that developed Gigabit Ethernet solutions. Prior to Jato Technologies, Brooks worked at Thomas-Conrad a small networking systems company. Brooks began his career at Texas Instruments. He received his BSEE from Mississippi State University.
Jaime Edwards – Vice President, Engineering and Operations
Jaime comes to NextIO with more than 25 years of experience bringing high-performance switching and communication products to the marketplace. Prior to NextIO, Jaime was with Cisco Systems where he held several positions. Most recently he managed the product development of numerous switching products. As part of this role Jaime drove the development of multiple new product portfolios targeting emerging markets including switching solutions for blade servers, metro Ethernet, and Industrial Automation. In his earlier role at Cisco Jaime was a system architect and led Cisco's third generation DSLAM developments. Before Cisco, Jaime managed the Industrial Communications Research and Development team at National Instruments, a leader in PC based instrumentation. Jaime began his career in software development for multiple government agencies including NASA and the USAF. Jaime holds both a BSEE and MSEE degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Jaime has been awarded 10 patents and currently has 2 patents pending.
